We know what you're thinking: "Why the heck should I care about Ek Hasina Thi Ek Deewana Tha?". The answer is simple: this film will teach you something new. In fact, it stands to be one of the best films in recent years for learning a new language. So, if you want a film to take you on a journey outside your comfort zone and have it with an even more immersive experience, go watch this movie. This film may run with subtitles so do not worry if that scares you off either. The film begins with Ishika Patel (Parineeti Chopra) returning to her home town for her uncle's funeral. She is returning after being away in the US for ten years. She has been back only once when she was in middle school. The family, especially her mother, are not happy about her return. Ishika has made a lot of bad choices when she was in the US, and she is an embarrassment to the family name. Her mother wants to make sure that she goes back to the US once again. Her uncle had made promises of buying her an apartment in Mumbai if she came home for his funeral, but he never followed through with it before he died. The family expects Ishika to take the money and go back to the US. The problem is that she does not have a VISA. One day, Ishika's brother in law, Vinay (Sharman Joshi) meets a man at a funeral who says that he knows a way for her to get around the VISA Problem. The man is a gangster named Baba Subramaniam or Basu (Akshay Kumar), and he runs an illegal immigration agency called KMS Immigration. He also runs an illegal nightclub in Mumbai called D2N which is really famous among all kinds of people for its high quality drinks and exotic dancers. He says he can get a fake VISA for Ishika so she can stay in India and work for him, and she may even become a permanent resident one day. Ishika is reluctant to do so at first, because she is very good at what she does as a senior analyst in the US and it would be difficult for her to start over as an agent. She is also concerned about Basu's reputation as a gangster, but he assures her that he only deals with things that no one else will touch, like drugs and human trafficking. He has those kind of connections because those things are illegal and he helps people who need to do illegal things to their enemies. Basu arranges for Ishika to meet two of his friends, Big Vijay (Faizal Khan) and Little Vijay (Salman Khan), who will serve as her cover as an agent. She meets them at a popular Mumbai restaurant and tells them that she is there to do a paid work interview. Little Vijay starts flirting with her and Big Vijay says that he is going out to make some calls. He notices that she never had her passport on her, but Basu assures him that they will handle this by tomorrow. cfa1e77820
